Welcome to Moneyheffer Commodities.  We appreciate your visit to our website.  We are a small family owned and operated full service commodity and financial futures brokerage located in North Central Indiana.

We have a combined 14 years experience trading and brokering commodities, and feel that our level of service to our clients is second to none.  We clear our trades through R. J. O’Brien, one of the oldest and most respected names in the futures business.  We are proud to be associated with such a fine group of people.  To learn more about RJO, visit their web site at  www.rjobrien.com.

Our office is located in our home, which enables us to be available to our customers from 5:30 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. , and even during the night if trading conditions warrant.  Such conditions recently existed in the energy market in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

We offer daily audio market updates on this website.  For our clients, we offer an evening e-mail with our comments of the day’s trading along with our thoughts as to market direction for the next day.  We receive excellent proprietary market research from R. J. O’Brien each day, along with live audio updates from the various trading floors throughout the day to keep us apprised of changing market moods and trends.  We do our best to pass this information along to our customers as quickly as possible to enable them to utilize it to their best advantage.  We are constantly upgrading and expanding our computer systems to keep up with technological advances.  We constantly strive to further our market knowledge, and to keep abreast of the constantly changing commodity business.

Every client is different.  No one trading plan fits all.  Some have large amounts of risk capital available while others have a very limited amount.  Some have higher mental tolerance for risk than others.  Some desire close contact during the trading day while others prefer to place a trade, and then wait for the market to "come to them".  Whether you are a hedger or a speculator, we will try to help you identify trading opportunities.  At the same time, we will try to determine the risk involved and how to manage that risk.  If you have never traded before but feel that commodity trading could work for you, please call and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have and assist you in any way possible. Whatever your trading experience, the most important thing to remember is commodity trading involves considerable financial risk and is not suitable for everyone.  You must examine such risk in light of your own financial condition, and determine if such risk is suitable for you.  You should only use genuine risk capital for trading commodities; that is money you can afford to lose without affecting your standard of living.  For those with a basic knowledge of the markets and commodity trading, and whose daily routine permits, we can offer electronic order entry which allows order placement directly from the client’s home computer.

We have no minimum account size and require no set amount of trades per month.  Whether you trade a little or a lot, we will do our best to treat you as our most important client.

Now on a personal note, we would like to tell you a little about ourselves.  We have been married for 40+ years.  We have two grown daughters, Kimberly and Deborah.  We also have four grandchildren-  Jordan, Chelsey,  Joshua, and Hannah.  We live near New Paris, Indiana on the farm where Don was raised.  After graduation from New Paris High School and attendance at South Bend Business College, Don entered the law enforcement field.  When his father retired from farming, Don took over the daily operation.  Being involved in commodity trading, Don felt that becoming a broker was the next step.  Don enjoys reading and target shooting in his spare time.

Barbara graduated from Wakarusa High School,  attended Goshen College and was employed by Fairfield Community Schools.  When Don took over the farming operation, Barb decide to stay home and become a full time farmwife.   After Don started trading, she helped in the office and in 2003 became a broker.  Barbara enjoys reading and cross-stitching in her spare time.  We enjoy gardening together.

Our daughter, Deborah, joined us part-time in 2005.  Deborah graduated from Fairfield High School and has as associate degree in psychology from Indiana University.   She and her husband, Jeff, live near Goshen, Indiana. She has one child, Jordan.  Deb works from her home based office as Director of Governmental Compliances for multiple national RV companies.   Deb is kept busying with Jordan's school and sports activities.

Again, we appreciate your visit.  Whether you are a large trader or a small trader, whether you trade daily, or just on occasion, we promise to handle your account as if you were our one and only client.  If you have any questions or feel you would like to become a client, please give us a call or fill out the form on our contact page.  We would be honored to have you as a client.

COMMODITY TRADING INVOLVES CONSIDERABLE RISK, AND MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE.  YOU SHOULD EXAMINE SUCH RISK IN LIGHT OF YOUR OWN FINANCIAL CONDITION.
